“…pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored…” (2 Thessalonians 3:1) Since 1893, SIM’s motto has been “By Prayer”. By prayer, SIM and its many ministries have seen God do amazing and marvelous things – thousands of new churches planted, millions coming to faith in Jesus Christ and growing as His disciples, and communities all over the world transformed by God’s grace.
Frequently, people think of prayer as something we do before we begin the work of ministry. However, we believe that prayer is the work of the ministry. We invite you to join with us in this vital ministry of prayer! Our vision and hearts’ desire is to ultimately see many thousands of churches in Africa, Asia and Latin America using the platform of sport to touch millions of lives with the love of God. As we pray together, we will see the glory of the impossible!

June-July 2010 Prayer Requests:International
* Pray for additional partners and financial supporters as SF grows. * Pray for God to raise up more workers – current needs are identified for over 30 missionary positions. * Pray for initial steps in our Africa and Asia expansion – we are actively beginning ministry initiatives in six new countries. Pray for those recently trained in Ghana and Kenya that they would be faithful in ministering to young people through sports. * Pray for initial partnership discussions with a major child-sponsorship organization whereby SF would help them further develop their sports ministry activities in SE Asia. * Pray for discussions with a US-based soccer coach licensing organization. We are seeking a partner to provide coaching accreditation for our SF youth coaches.
Ethiopia
* Pray for the 50,000 youth who are involved in SF-related programs. May each of them become a beacon of light to their communities! * Please pray that the camping for this year will go smoothly and people’s lives will be changed through it. And also pray that all the coming and goings will be safe. * Please pray and praise God for volunteers who are faithfully working on the field. * Please pray for Level II trainees and volunteers’ gatherings in various locations. Pray that they will be able to implement what they have learned and so that the trainings will go well. * Please pray for all Level IV leaders. As a few denominations are coming to the end of our agreement (partnership), many are being frustrated with accountability, salary and other issues as well. Pray that they will come to an agreement with their denominations concerning these issues.
Camp Langano
* These summer months are busy, exciting ones for camp. We are so grateful that the new cabins are completed and each week, we pray, there will be abundant spiritual fruit harvested. * Pray for the physical and spiritual health of all the campers, SF leaders, camp staff, and the church teams. * Pray that God's redeeming love will be revealed by His Holy Spirit to everyone who comes to Camp Langano.
Nigeria
* We continue to focus on follow-up, so pray for safe travel and good meetings with champions and church leaders. * Continue to pray for the Level IV leaders trained in March. Several have gotten off to a great start, others have not. Pray that the church leaders would really support them. * We are doing more training in the M-dominated north of Nigeria and need prayer support to penetrate these tough but crucial areas. * Pray for camps which will start in August. * Continue to ask God to do His thing and keep us from messing it up.
