Your skills, training, talents, experience, gifts and passion can all be used for God’s glory as we together empower and equip churches and church planters to use sports as a platform to transform lives and strengthen communities.
Sports Friends is a ministry of the multi-national, interdenominational mission, SIM (Serving In Mission). SIM manages all recruiting, selection and training functions for applicants wishing to serve with Sports Friends around the world. Sports Friends Sports Ministry Leader: Serve as the primary sports ministry leader for a given geographic region. Focus on training, equipping and encouraging churches and church planters in their development of sports ministry. Current openings in Ethiopia and India.
Sports Friends Organizational Leader: Serve as the primary organizational leader for a given geographic region. Focus on staff recruitment and development, leadership development, strategy assessment, partnership development, administration and communication. Current openings in Ethiopia and India
Sports Friends Coaches Trainer: Train coaches to become life influencers. Share your knowledge and experience with local coaches many of whom have very limited access to formal coaching education. Coaching competency and experience required. Current needs include soccer (football), basketball, and cricket coaches. Current openings in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Thailand and India.
Sports Friends Sports Minister: Work with churches and church planters in a specific region to develop effective sports ministry models which can be reproduced. Hands on role of modeling, teaching and reproducing yourself. Disciple small group of local leaders. Various focuses could include women’s ministry, development of a league, ministry start up in a new territory, and/or working as part of a church planting team to an unreached people group. Potential for short-term and long-term service. Current openings in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Thailand and India.
Sports Friends Camp Counselor/Leader: Short-term opportunity (approximately 2 months each summer) to serve at Sports Friends youth camps. Lead and direct various sports and games activities as well as various teaching and worship times. Current openings at Camp Langano in Ethiopia.
Sports Friends Curriculum Developer: Provide leadership to the development of various sports ministry training curriculums for use around the world. Opening is part of International office located near Charlotte, NC.
Sports Friends Communications Director: Develop effective communications pieces for the overall Sports Friends ministry, including web site updates, newsletters, brochures, DVDs and photo libraries. Opening is part of International office located near Charlotte, NC.
Sport Friends Web Developer: Maintain and enhance Sports Friends web site. Significant upgrades desired to communicate securely with and support thousands of sports ministers engaged in sports ministry around the world. Opening is part of International office located near Charlotte, NC.
Sports Friends Church Partnerships Coordinator: Work with SIM sending offices to develop effective church partnerships between churches in our sending countries and churches engaged in sports ministry in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Opening is part of International office located near Charlotte, NC.
Sports Friends Mobilization Administrator: Provide administrative support to various fundraising, mobilization, and short-term trip initiatives supporting the Sports Friends ministry. Opening is part of International office located near Charlotte, NC.
Sports Friends Administrative Assistant: Provide administrative support (correspondence, data base management, event planning, document production, etc.) to Sports Friends leaders serving in the International office located near Charlotte, NC.
