Short-Term Ministry

How might God use you if you took a step of faith to engage with His mission in another part of the world?

Short-term ministry trips

Each year, Sports Friends offers short-term ministry trips to various field locations in which we serve. These trips are an excellent way for you to learn first-hand about the Sports Friends ministry, to experience God at work in another culture, and to encourage and support our teams on the ground. These life-changing trips connect you with our teams doing church planting work, camping ministry, and other sports ministry initiatives. Our short-term trips not only contribute significantly to the long-term ministry, but also enable you to become a catalyst in your sending church for renewed passion and commitment to the work of our Lord. Hundreds of people have gone on such short-term trips and have powerful stories to tell of how God worked in and through their lives!

Camping ministry trips

During Sports Friends’ camps, young people encounter the love and good news of Jesus through the relationships they build with camp staff and their coach who accompanies them. You do not have to be an athlete to serve at camp. As you help with crafts, lead music, take photos, or help with team building activities, your primary role is simply to lavish God’s love upon these young people.

Vision trips

Ideal for those interested in partnering or serving with Sports Friends, our vision trips provide a great opportunity for you to actively participate in God’s work around the world. Experience the sights, sounds, smells, and customs of another culture, as you encourage our teams on the ground and see the fruits of the Sports Friends ministry.

Testimonials

“It has changed me in a way which shows me how full, happy, and content people can be with just God. I saw how fulfilling He was, and how He fills people to the brim with joy when you fully rely on Him and put Him first in your life.”

— CASEY, SHORT-TERM TEAM, ETHIOPIA

Testimonials

“Working at camp was a beautiful picture of God’s love that we cannot understand. Those boys had no idea why we cared or loved them, but they could choose whether to accept or reject our love. This trip really impacted me in a lot of ways.”

— SARAH, SHORT-TERM TEAM, THAILAND

Testimonials

“My heart has been changed because I am so much more grateful for everything. Now I know that what makes you rich is your relationship with God.”

— NICK, SHORT-TERM TEAM, ETHIOPIA

Testimonials

“I learned to trust that God would use me in ways I couldn’t plan for or expect but I had to be prayerful, open, and trusting — more of Him and less of me.”

— LYNN, SHORT-TERM TEAM, ETHIOPIA
